One of the finest places for trekking in Kerala, Chembra Peak is at 2100 meters above sea level. The peak is around 14 km from Kalpetta, the district HQ of Wayanad and very near to Meppadi. On reaching half of the trek, it is a refreshing view to see a small lake, which is described as a wonder by tourists. Most of the parts of Wayanad could be seen reaching the top. Trekking to the peak of Chembra takes almost a day. Tourists can also choose to camp on the peak on prior booking. A guide also will accompany the team for trekking. Permission from the dept of Forest at Meppadi and requisite fee payment are mandatory for the travelers.
